Dan Really enjoying this project. The mention of Robert Wyatt in the sleeve notes makes me think how much I'd love to hear TGU let loose on a full-album cover of RW's 'The End Of An Ear'. (Just in case you run out of ideas at any point.) 🙏

Maggie We’re road tripping today and it’s always the perfect moment to pop in the new TGU experience. My mom raised me on a lot of Pete Jolly and Ramsey Lewis...been on a piano jag and loving the retro sound of this. Thanks again!

The latest item in the TGU subscription is a collection of laidback retro style tracks composed by Tim Whelan (except for the Song of the Volga Boatmen which was composed by, er, some Volga Boatmen). As Robert Wyatt once wrote about the number of bum notes on his album 'Nothing Can Stop Us' "These are all proof of my almost painful sincerity." Mr Whelan says anything that's good enough for Robery Wyatt is good enough for him anyway! We like a few rough edges and we like a few funky grooves....plenty of both here.

Sheema makes an appearance on sitar and Larry Whelan contributes sax on several tracks. Loretta Heywood guests on 'Woman in the Room' the one vocal track on the set. And we also have a guest appearance by Nick (Dubulah) Page playing guitar on 'Colville Square.' The news of his untimely death came through as this album was completed and we'd like to dedicate the mix of 'Colville Square to him.
